Boys moving back home???

Ryan's lease was up this weekend and he didn't want to live in the same apartment this next year. He has been working in Nebraska so it's not been to easy to get things in order for him.
We moved his things in the basement and garage. Some of his things went right into the dumpster. I could tell other college students did the same thing every dumpster was over flowing. You name it they were throwing it away.
Ryan is thinking that a one bedroom apartment would be best for him. His roommate experience didn't go so well.
Jamie moves out at the end of the month so we will be doing this all again.
fun fun :)

Good bye long hair!

Kailee was so excited to get her hair cut! She had to wait till the wedding and pageant was over with then I said she could get it cut up to her shoulders. The gal cut it a little longer then we thought it would be but she layered it up in the back about 2 inches. Kailee loves it she was so happy with the cut that she said she didn't want it any shorter. It was close to 6 inches I don't think we will be letting it get that long again for a while. This is so cute and easier to manage.

Kailee has enjoyed her Uncle Rusty being home on Vacation. She even has taught him her baton routine that she has learned this summer. Good thing he learns pretty quick she doesn't have a lot of patience. Nick and Austin wouldn't even put the baton in their hands. Must be a boy thing! LOL

My Birthday

Had a great great birthday going out to eat with the family and ending it with an Ice Cream Cake from Dairy Queen that Kailee picked out!

Wedding picture

Casey and Courtney's wedding was beautiful and was a great time.

Wow its been sooo long since I posted last!

Just where does the time go?
The last few months have just flown right by.
At work we have been really busy the College enrollment is way up.
Getting ready for Kailee's Pageant has been challeging since we really didn't know what we were doing. But we were lucky enough to find a few people that have been doing it for a few years so we did get some good ideas from them. Kailee practiced her walk and talk for many weeks. It paid off because she recieved 2nd runner up in the princess division. She was given a large trophy and roses. She loved it I was a nervous wreck the whole day. But she had a smile when we walked in and a smil when we walked out. I would call that a great day. She was invited to CA to compete for the National American Miss Court in November but I think we will wait another year before we go to the next level. This was a great learning year for us. Who knows maybe next year she will be crowned Iowa's N.A.M. Princess!!!

Miss Kailee State Finalist!!!!

Kailee has been selected as one of the State Finalist in the National American Miss 2010 Miss Iowa Princess Pageant.

We were so excited and proud of her!

We have call Kailee our "Family Princess" but now she could become "The Iowa Miss Princess!"

Kailee will attend a Pageant work shop in Cedar Rapids in May to learn many new things about being a princess. Then the 2010 Miss Iowa Princess Pageant will be in Grinnell at the College Bucksbaum Fine Art Center
June 27.

If she is selected to become the Iowa's 2010 Miss Princess she will be invited to California for Nationals in November.

How this started.....
We received an invitation in the mail from the National American Miss about a month ago. One of our friends had sent Kailee's name in to be interview for the pageant.I had no idea Kelly did this. "Thank you Kelly!"

When I read the invite I thought right what kind of deal is this? But I thought what the heck we will go and check it out.

I was very impressed with what they had say and their believes. The NAM pageant has guidelines for the finalist, for example no one under 13 can wear make-up, no bathing suits contests and many more rules that have to be followed.
NAM helps girls develop an empowering poise and self confidence.

NAM give many college scholarships for the girls and other gifts.

So I thought why not Kailee loves to dress up in fancy dresses and likes to look pretty so this will be fun for her.

Kailee is beautiful, very smart and she loves to learning new things. She is a sponge when it come to learning and she has a memory that is unbelievable.

Kailee was interviewed and they asked for one picture to keep. That was no problem we have many.

After we were done we were told we would hear from NAM the next week if she was selected. We were also told usually only 50% that where interviewed were selected.

Two days later we received a call that she was selected it was so exciting!

Kailee's first thoughts were "Do I need to change my name to Hannah Montana?"

She is so funny!! It's know wonder she was selected. I have no idea what she said during the interview but I am sure she steeled the interviewers heart or made her laugh a lot. Kailee is really good at that, specially if she is talking about her brothers.

So know we know nothing is for free and Kailee will be looking for sponsors if you would like to be one please make your checks payable to National American Miss. Your name will be featured in the state program book and in the paper. You can send the checks to us we will be taking them to the Pageant work shop in Cedar Rapids in May.
